EVENTS COORDINATOR / FUND DEVELOPMENT ASSISTANT

Lakehead Social Planning Council is looking for a creative, innovative person to join our Fund Development Team as an Events Coordinator/Fund Development Assistant. This position is contract, up to 6 months. The ideal candidate will be highly motivated and enjoy working in a team environment and with the business community and the public.

Major Responsibilities will include working in conjunction with the Fund Development/Marketing Manager to:

  • Implement, plan, facilitate and evaluate annual special events such as “LSPC’s ChristmasFest”, “LSPC’s SpringFest”, and other special events and fundraising initiatives in the development stages.
  • Help recruit, supervise and sustain committee members and volunteers for events, in cooperation with our Volunteer Coordinator.

Skills required are:

  • Ability to multi-task in a dynamic, fast-paced, fun environment
  • Superior organizational skills to ensure tasks are completed on time and on budget
  • Excellent communication skills written, oral and one-on-one and group presentation.
  • Experience with print and internet promotion and advertising including production aspects
  • Ability to work flexible hours
  • Own vehicle is required

Compensation is $14/hr. The work week may expand to a 35-hour week
with an anticipated start date of August 8th, 2005.
