Annual General Meeting 2005
Treasurers Report
LSPC finished this year in a surplus position. This would not have been possible
if not for the hard work of our core staff members. One of the reasons for
our surplus is the fact that our Executive Director, position was left vacant
in 2004. We were able to rescue our cash flow, but this did represent a significant
strain to both the board and the employees.
LSPC has now taken on several new projects, which are expanding our roles,
as well as our funding. The hiring of a fund development person, as well as
a volunteer coordinator should increase our ability to fund raise for the core
costs of the LSPC.
LSPC has several projects on the go for the upcoming year. The funding for
the SEII 2 Project has been approved and we are well into the planning for
this dynamic project. The 211 Committee is also working hard towards its future
goal of having a 211 site in Thunder Bay.
LSPC has now hired a part time Executive Director, which is starting to lighten
the workload of the staff and board. More importantly this step has allowed
us to hire an Executive Director to conduct meetings, and manage projects we
are hoping to start up soon.
Respectfully Submitted
