The 2009 Annual Report uses demographic and caller information that was tracked and
compiled from approximately 20,000 calls received in 2009, and it provides insight into the changing needs of our community and demands on community services. This report also
reviews the performance of our helpline, while taking into consideration the impact to our
community. Data in this report is compiled from the 211 North client resource database and is representative of incoming information and referral calls received by our Information &
Referral specialists during 2009.

On behalf of the LSPC and NTS Research Consultants we would like to thank everyone who offered their valuable time to participate in the interviews and focus groups thus contributing to the development and successful completion of this study. We invite you to review the draft document and respond regarding any successful youth strategies (specifically, Chapter 4; Youth Engagement: Best Practices/Strategies) that could be included, since each may not have been identified during the interview or questionnaire process. Please provide responses in brief form and forward to mklassen@tbaytel.net. All reponses will be unedited and included in an attached addendum under separate cover in the final document. The deadline for all written responses is Monday, April 12, 2010 at 4pm.

The purpose of this document, Housing and Support Services Available in Thunder Bay, is to provide up-to-date information regarding the services related to housing security and homelessness in Thunder Bay. The Thunder Bay Housing and Homelessness Coalition concluded that this compilation would be a useful tool for the future planning of programs, services and initiatives. By taking stock of what we currently offer as a community, the Coalition will be able to act in an informed manner to address the needs of the homeless and housing insecure.

Social Profile for Thunder Bay is a new resource for organizations and community groups that use demographic and socio-economic data in their work. This document may assist in program planning, needs assessments, funding submissions, advocacy initiatives, public policy development and research projects. This report draws on 10 years of Census data to paint a picture of Thunder Bay's population and highlights what may be considered the major trends impacting its residents and institutions.
